Dr. Joel Zika

Dr. Joel Zika is an immersive media specialist whose research explores the history of public engagement with technology. Through projection and animation, he collaborates with communities to tell their stories using innovative technologies in public spaces.

For over 15 years, Dr. Zika has led projects in virtual reality film, documentary, interactive animation, and large-scale public installations. His creative works have been featured at the Moss Arts Center at Virginia Tech, Federation Square in Melbourne, Dark Mofo in Hobart, and Vivid Sydney.
