About the Artist

Cam Shot First

Houston native Cam Shot First is a lifelong artist who creates vibrant collages using her own photography. As an autistic artist, she has found photography to be a powerful means of self-expression and a way to navigate the world around her. “Photography gave me some of myself back,” she reflects, describing how she captures the fleeting, evocative moments of everyday life—sunlight glinting off a car or people strolling along Galveston’s Seawall.

Committed to making art accessible, Cam Shot First extends her talents beyond personal work by volunteering her skills. She offers free graduation portraits to students facing financial barriers and supports community initiatives, including local theater productions. Through these efforts, she not only creates meaningful art but also fosters connections and strengthens her community, embodying her belief in the transformative power of accessible art.
